The Department of Educational Leadership is a graduate ONLY department at Lamar University offering two master degrees, a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Principal and Superintendent Certification Programs

The Department has a dynamic and highly qualified faculty committed to continuous improvement in all our educational endeavors. We have designed and implemented one of the largest online graduate programs in Educational Leadership producing campus and district leaders throughout Texas and the nation.


 Master's Degrees

The Master of Education in Educational Technology Leadership
is designed to prepare educators to proficiently use and integrate technology into the classroom. 

The Master of Education in Educational Administration
is designed to prepare students for professional careers in school leadership.


 Doctoral Degree

The Ed.D in Educational Leadership, with concentrations in Effective Schooling, Diversity and Multiculturalism, and Higher Education is designed for scholar/practitioners who desire to create positive lasting change in schools and other organizations. 


 Professional Certifications

Principal Certification:
Available to applicants with a Master of Education degree. The program allows educators continue their professional development in school leadership and administration.

Superintendent Certification:
Available to applicants with a Principal (or Mid-Management) Certification and one year of practical administrative experience



Our faculty has extensive experience and expertise as teachers, principals, superintendents, as well as other central office positions such as directors of technology, special programs, counseling and psychological services, special education supervisors, and curriculum coordinators.
