Health and Kinesiology Students

The Department of Health and Kinesiology offers two programs of study leading to the Master of Public Health and the Master of Science degree in Kinesiology. The Public Health program of study focuses on global health issues and is designed to prepare students for health administration positions and addresses the graduate level professional health competencies. The Kinesiology program of study is designed to enhance the professional competence of graduates in Health, Exercise Science and related fields of study. Primary focus is placed upon advance knowledge in sport, exercise and wellness issues.

Requirements for Admission:

  1. Candidates for admissions to the Master of Public Health and Master of Science in Kinesiology must meet all the admission requirements of the College of Graduate Studies and specific departmental requirements and approval.  The verbal portion of GRE should be 146 or higher.
  2. Candidates must also have a 2.5 or greater GPA on a 4.0 scale or a 2.75 GPA in the last 60 hours of their undergraduate degree program.
  3. Candidates must satisfy the necessary undergraduate prerequisites as prescribed for a particular area of specialization.
  4. Candidates with a GPA of 3.0 or greater are not required to take the GRE.
