Hospitality Administration B.S.
Do you like the hospitality industry and want to be a manager or director? Do you want to own your own restaurant, spa, or casino? Then the BS in Hospitality Administration is the degree for you.
The BS in Hospitality Administration program includes a variety of courses in the hospitality field such as travel & tourism, hospitality marketing, hospitality law and hospitality management.
The program is for students who are not interested in becoming a Certified Culinarian (CC). For students who are interested in becoming a CC, check out the BS in Hospitality Administration-Culinary Arts.
The BS in Hospitality Administration curriculum includes:
- introduction to the hospitality industry
- purchasing
- hospitality management
- human resources in hospitality
- travel & tourism
- hospitality marketing
With this degree, you might work as a Food Service Director in in commercial, non-profit, and institutional foodservice organizations in which you are the primary leader over the food & beverage purchasing, production, distribution. You might also manage a restaurant, hotel, spa, or casino. You may want to go into business for yourself as an event planner or a food & beverage establishment owner.
Hospitality Administration Minor or Culinary Arts Minor is also available to students who are pursuing other majors but are interested in the hospitality industry.
Note: The BS in Hospitality Administration program accepts up to 36 hours of technical credit for students who have completed an AAS degree in Hospitality or a closely related degree.
